Western anchor of the Himalayas around which the Indus river skirts into the plains of Pakistan is Nanga Parbat (literally, Naked Mountain ; Hindi: safe अनंग पर्बत ; Urdu: ننگا پربت [nəŋɡaː pərbət̪]) is the ninth highest mountain in the world at 8,126 metres (26,660 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of the Pakistan and is locally known as ‘Deo Mir’ (‘देओ मीर’)(‘mir’ meaning ‘mountain’).
Nanga Parbat is one of the eight-thousanders, with a summit elevation of 8,126 metres (26,660 ft). An immense, dramatic peak rising far above its surrounding terrain, Nanga Parbat is also a notoriously difficult climb. Numerous mountaineering deaths in the mid and early 20th century lent it the nickname “killer mountain”. Along with K2, it has never been climbed in winter.

Nanga Parbat Massif is the western corner pillar of the Himalayas. It is an isolated range of peaks just spring up from nothing and is surrounded by the river Indus and Astore. Nanga Parbat or “Nanga Parvata” means the naked mountain. It’s original and appropriate name, however is Diamir the king of the mountains the legendary mountaineer, harmann buhl climbed the peak first time in June 1953.Nanga Parbat has a hight of 8126m it has three vast faces. The Raikot face is dominated by the North and south silver crags and silver plateau, the diamer face is rocky in the beginning it converts itself into ice field around Nanga Parbat peak. The Rupal face is the highest precipice in the world.
Nanga Parbat has always been associated with tragedies and tribulations until it was climbed in 1953. A lot mountaineers perished on Nanga Parbat since 1895 even today it is claiming a heavy tell of human life lives from the mountaineers in search of adventure and thrill or becoming its victim in persite of their eagerness to find new and absolutely unclimbed route leading to its summit.
