Masherbrum:

Masherbrum is located in the Ghanche District, Gilgit Baltistan of Pakistan. At 7,821 metres it is the 22nd highest mountain in the world and the 9th highest in Pakistan. It was the first mapped peak in the Karakoram mountain range, hence its name. The word masher in Balti means no sunlight and brum means mountain, hence it actually means the mountain where sunlight never works in sense of melting the snow because the peak remains covered with snow through out the year. It may also come from masha (queen or lady), giving “queen of peaks.” Other meanings have also been suggested.

Gondogoro:

Gondogoro Pass is the mountain pass on the Gondogoro Glacier near Vigne Glacier. From the Southern side, pass descends into the Hushe village which is the last human settlement of the Ghangche District of northern Pakistan.

K – 7  Peak:

This peak is situated in the Saltoro and Masherbrum ranges. The nearby glaciers are Kaberi and Charakusa. Possible route to the peak is from Khapulo in Baltistan through Tagas, Dumsum and Kaberi glacier. Some maps show its height as 6,934m, while others show it as 6,935m.

Masherbrum Base Camp trek is one of our most exciting walking journeys! And it is one of the most isolated treks of Pakistan in Karakoram. The trek goes through Hushe Valley in Baltistan. It is an easy trek even for those who do not have any trekking experience but still intend to have a marvelous trekking experience of mighty Karakoram. After exploring Masherbrum Base Camp we continue our walk towards Gondogoro Base Camp by halting traditional camps of Schayechu, Dalchampa and then to Khuispan the base of Gondogoro Peak 5,860m. If you have received enough technical climbing training attempting this peak is great experience. The trek ends again at the beautiful Hushe Valley. The trek does not require any technical experience.
